Lindsay Thompson – Secretary

Lindsay was born in Staffordshire and has lived in various beautiful locations including Poole Harbour and the Malvern Hills before moving to Pitton in 2005 with her husband and two children. 

Lindsay started her career working in food manufacturing as a Production Manager for Ryvita but following her move to Pitton and having young children at the time made a move into Early Years Education.

Lindsay was Deputy Manager, SENCo and Forest School Lead at Pitton Pre-School for seven years before taking up a position with Wiltshire Council working as a Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) Lead Worker within Education and Skills Directorate and now combines her skills and experience with her love of nature working for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust as an Education and Well- Being Officer.

Lindsay has supported Alabare for many years raising money through their ‘Big Sleep Outs’ events and more recently completing her first 10K Race for Life for Cancer UK. In 2023 Lindsay walked the length of Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for Dementia UK.

In her spare time Lindsay enjoys walking her dog in and around the many walks on offer in Pitton and the surrounding villages.

Paul (Fred) Fredericks – Chair

Fred was born in Pitton and has lived in the village for most of his adult life. He was a senior public servant and held operational and policy roles at the Charity Commission and the Healthcare Commission. After leaving the public sector he ran a consultancy business providing practitioner support to charities, community groups and social enterprises.

He has an MSc in Voluntary Sector Management and is also an ILM accredited social enterprise advisor. His experience includes developing governance structures, business plans and funding models.

Fred has been a trustee of a number of charities, including the Royal College of General Practitioners, he is an Honorary Fellow of the RCGP.

Within the local community he is a Parish Councillor and in the past a School Governor and Chair of the Carnival Committee.

Now retired he enjoys walking. He also fundraises for the Trussell Trust and volunteers for the Ramblers charity.
