Pitton Nature Trust encourage local residents to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch over the weekend of 23rd January to 25th January 2026.
This is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey and has been going since 1979. In 2025 over 590,000 people participated and counted 9.1 million birds.
The RSPB’s website has lots of useful resources to help you identify and record birds.
You can sign up for the Big Garden Birdwatch here.

Pitton Nature Trust would love to hear about the birds you spot whilst taking part in the survey. We plan to start a natural history record of the birds in the local area.
As well as taking part in the RSPB survey please send details of your bird count to us at contact@pittonnaturetrust.org.uk
