We held a very well attended event on Friday 7th November in Pitton Village Hall.
The evening commenced with Fred, our Chair of Trustees, thanking all those organisations and individuals that had supported the charity since it started in 2023. Particular mention was made to Pitton Social Club for their recent generous donation which has enabled the Community Orchard & Nature Reserve to be reseeded with a wildflower seed mix from the RSPB’s Reserve at Winterbourne Down.
This was followed by Lindsay, our Secretary, providing details of the way the charity has increased the biodiversity in The Close.
Then Matthew, one of our Trustees, talked about all the work that has been done this year in to create the new Community Orchard & Nature Reserve.
Our guest speaker for the evening was Patrick Cashman, RSPB Chalk Country Reserves Site Manager. Patrick gave an absorbing presentation on the RSPB’s plans for their new reserve at Roundbarrow Farm.
