On Friday 23rd May Wiltshire Council opened the new permissive bridleway which links Pitton to Firsdown. This is a fantastic addition to the local network of public rights of way. The permissive path runs alongside the new Community Orchard and Nature Reserve so we hope visitors will pop in to enjoy the site.
At this time we are waiting for Wiltshire Council to give the Parish Council full public access to the site. The legal process of the land transfer from Wiltshire Council to the Parish Council has not been completed, however, we hope that an agreement can be reached to enable early access to the site.
Unfortunately until an agreement is in place Wiltshire Council have said full public access to the Community Orchard and Nature Reserve is not permitted.
