Yesterday we planted five fruit trees in The Close as part of the Coronation Living Heritage Orchard funding we received to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. Last Sunday saw the planting 420 hedge tree in the new community orchard & nature reserve. Which will be open to the community in late May. We planted a mix of hawthorn, rowan, wild cherry, hazel, silver birch and dogwood. When established this will create all year round colour with nuts and berries for birds and wildlife. #localnature #pittonnature
